FILM FESTIVAL: 2015 Sydney Film Festival – Official Competition program

The Sydney Film Festival will take place between the 3 to 14th June 2015 has announced the twelve films selected for their Official Competition.  The jury consisting of five international and Australian filmmakers and industry professionals, awards a cash prize of $60,000, presented at the closing night ceremony on Sunday 14th June 2015.

The films in competition are:

Arabian Nights (Volume 1 – The Restless One, Volume 2 – The Desolate, Volume 3 – The Enchanted One),  dir. Miguel Gomes’, Portugal

Black Souls, dir. Francesco Munzi, Italy – Trailer

The Daughter, dir. Simon Stone, Australia

Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, dir. Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, USA – Trailer

A Pigeon Sat on a Branch Reflecting on Existence, dir Roy Andersson, Sweden – Trailer

Sherpa, dir. Jennifer Peedom, Australia

Strangerland, dir. Kim Farrant, Australia – Trailer

Tales, dir. Rakhashan Bani-Etemad, Iran – Trailer

Tangerine, dir. Sean Baker, USA – Trailer

Tehran Taxi, dir. Jafar Panahi, Iran
